Mrs Leitha Marshall

Mrs. Marshall, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. She was born on August 19, 1936, and lived a life rooted in love, service, and devotion to her family. Mrs. Marshall was married to the love of her life, J.C. Marshall, for 52 years. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work. She was a woman known for her caring heart and her giving spirit, always putting others before herself. She found great joy in the simple things in life—canning, baking, and cooking for those she loved. She was especially known for her delicious pies, red velvet cake, and her famous peach cobbler, which brought comfort and smiles to many. Her kitchen was not just a place for meals, but a place of gathering, laughter, and love. Mrs. Marshall had a special place in her heart for caring for others. She spent time sitting with and helping care for the elderly, often cooking meals and offering companionship. She also babysat children for many years and was blessed with the opportunity to care for six of her own grandchildren, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. She is survived by her three children: Jimmy (Mary) Cardwell of Easton, Missouri; Pam (Marlin) Iutzi of Flomaton, Alabama; and Candy (Jamie) Jones of Atmore, Alabama. She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her family, including 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Atmore Nursing Care Center and Southern Hospice for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided during her final days. Mrs. Marshall will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the love she poured into everyone around her. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC. Burial will follow at Canoe Freewill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Marshall, Andrew Bell, Hayden Mooney, Bo Bishop, Luke Jernigan & Ryan Hyatt
