Mrs. Sandra Gayle Pearson

Mrs. Sandra Gayle Pearson, who was 76 years old, sadly passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Atmore, Alabama, and spent her whole life there. Mrs. Pearson was a dedicated member of New Beginning Ministries, where she found community and support. Her warm spirit and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. She had a deep love for going to church and playing the piano, always finding joy in her faith. As a prayer warrior, she dedicated time to connect with God and support others through prayer. The Smoky Mountains held a special place in her heart, especially Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, where she enjoyed the beauty of nature. Additionally, she found happiness in relaxing at the beach and watching her favorite Hallmark Channel movies. A devoted fan of Auburn football, she cheered passionately for her team. From a young age, at just fourteen, she began preparing taxes at Gayle's Income Tax and Bookkeeping, where she worked for around forty-four years, helping countless individuals and businesses. Family was important to her, and she loved spending time with them, always making homemade birthday cakes to celebrate their special days and going to thrift stores. She is preceded in death by her parents, Orville Mason and Quilla Jay Mason Hall; sister Ruby Phillippi. Mrs. Pearson is survived by her husband of twenty-five years, Thurl Pearson of Atmore, Alabama; four sons, Jay (Teresa) Nichols of Atmore, Alabama, Tim Pearson of Atmore, Alabama, Buddy Strehl of Atmore, Alabama and Eric (Shonda) Strehl of Perdido, Alabama; three daughters, Roxann Strehl of Atmore, Alabama, Michelle (Keith) Rolin of Uriah, Alabama and Sonya (Daniel) Higdon of Flomaton, Alabama; fourteen grandchildren, Blake Pearson, Heather Strehl, Makenzie Strehl, Morgan Nichols Smith, Annah Nichols Hammond, Deanna Burkett, Austin Strehl, Cierra Strehl Bailey, Shayla Phillips, Aleigha Strehl, Micah Herrington, Taylor Johnson, Jakob Higdon, and Cadie Higdon; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous other beloved relatives. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC., with Reverend Thurl Pearson and Reverend J.T Guyton officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 9, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Micah Herrington, Keith Rolin, Daegan Martin, Tim Pearson, Jacob Bailey, Jerrod Phillips and Cameron Armentor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mason, Johnny Mason, Lawrence Brantley, and Harold Peacock.
