Mr. Melton Kendrick

Mr. Melton Kendrick, age 69, of Atmore, Alabama, passed away on June 14, 2026. He was born on July 21, 1956, in Evergreen, Alabama. Melton spent most of his life in Atmore, a community he proudly called home. He worked as a carpenter and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, relaxing on his back porch, and enjoying the companionship of his beloved dog, Bull. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Melton treasured the time he spent with his family. He especially enjoyed making memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought great joy to his life. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Rhonda Kay McGhee Kendrick of Atmore, Alabama; two daughters, Melissa Kendrick of Atmore, Alabama, and Stephanie Lynn Kendrick (Larry Paul) of Atmore, Alabama; and one son, Austin Kendrick of Atmore, Alabama. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kaitlin (Dillon Rolin) of Atmore, Alabama, Brendon Rolin of Atmore, Alabama, and Deidra Paul of Perdido, Alabama. Additionally, he leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Braylon Stoll and Riverlyn Rolin of Atmore, Alabama, and Zani Kay Rolin and Zayden Rolin of Bay Minette, Alabama. Three sisters, Billy Ann Edwards of Atmore, AL, Faye (Bill) Owens of Silverhill, Alabama, Ann (Pete) Nelson of Daphne, Alabama two brothers, Charlton Kendrick of Bay Minette, Alabama and David Wayne (Kristie) Kendrick of Foley, Alabama. Alongside many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Melton was preceded in death by his father Johnny C. and mother Lila Kendrick, and three brothers Robert Lee Kendrick, Charles Kendrick, Calvin Kendrick, three sisters, Mary Lou Pizzotti, Carol Ann Melvin and Jeanette Sells. Melton will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness, his enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life, and the many memories he created with those he loved. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC; with Reverend Don Sanks officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC. Pallbearers will be Toney Sells, Kenny Power, Catman, Jordan Tolbert, Ron Marshall and Brock Jernigan. Honorary pallbearers will be Conner Hadley, Austin Kendrick, Larry Paul, Braylon Stoll, Brendon Rolin and Dillon Rolin.
