Mrs. Mary Lee Smith

Mrs. Mary Lee Smith, who was 82 years old, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Bay Minette, Alabama. She was born in Uriah, Alabama, and spent most of her life in Atmore, Alabama, before moving to Bay Minette. Throughout her life, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bay Minette, where she shared her faith and formed lasting friendships. Her warm spirit and kindness will be remembered by many. She had a deep love for sewing and quilting, which brought her so much joy. As a skilled seamstress, she could create beautiful pieces with ease. Besides her passion for fabric, she enjoyed jewelry and took pride in her garden, tending to her plants with care. In her downtime, she loved relaxing in front of the TV, often watching shows like The Price is Right, westerns, or the Home Shopping Network. Alabama football was another favorite, filling her with excitement during the games. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren, creating happy memories that would last a lifetime. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Tom Daniel and Petty Bell Hayles Daniel; husband, Reginald A. Smith; brothers, George GW” William Daniel, Thomas Edward Daniel, and Joe Ed Daniel; sister, Elizabeth Roland. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Regina Worrell of Bay Minette, Alabama and Fay Etheridge and husband Jerry of Bay Minette, Alabama; brothers, Cereal Cecil Daniel and wife Linda of Atmore, Alabama and John Mark Daniel of Winter Haven, Florida; sisters, Glenda and husband David of Smithville, Texas and Emily Ann Jones and husband Gerald of Atmore, Alabama; five grandchildren, David Eugene Baker, Jr., Reginald Duane Worrell, Cody Lamar Worrell, Chris Etheridge, and Laura “Shelly” Etheridge White; great-grandchildren, Stephen Tyleer Baker, Morgan Elizabeth Baker, Marion Danielle Baker, Marcus Gabriel Baker, Brylin Brooke Etheridge, Emma-leigh Etheridge, Alan Christopher “Ace” Etheridge, Aylea Michele White, Ayvah Maree White, and Mason Thomas White; great-great grandchild, Sophie Lynn Worrell. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC., with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 from 2:00 PM until service time at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC. Pallbearers will be Chris Etheridge, David Baker, Paul Daniel, Wayne Daniel, Reginald Worrell and Preston Hope.
