Mr. John David Williams

Mr. John David Williams, age 77, passed away, Thursday, January 23, 2025 at his residence in Goodway, AL; surrounded by his love ones. He was a native of Uriah and Goodway areas. He retired from Vanity Fair Mills with many years of service. Mr. Williams was a man of simple joys and deep passions. He loved spending time on the water, fishing rods in hand, enjoying the peace of nature. On weekends, he could often be found treasure hunting at yard sales, looking for hidden gems and unique finds. He had a special fondness for watching westerns and fishing shows, which brought him comfort and entertainment. His heart belonged to the mountains, where he loved to travel and explore. As a proud member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, he cherished his heritage and shared stories about it with his family. Above all, Mr. Williams held his family close to his heart and found joy in attending church, where he connected with his community and celebrated his faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis (Minnie Lee Brooks) Williams, four brothers, Charles Williams, Albert Williams, Gene Williams, Leroy Williams, and two sisters, Bobbie Ann Crowley and Judy Dianna Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sue Carol Williams, of Goodway, AL; one son, Michael Peavy, of Mobile, AL; two daughters, Tammy Lynn Peavy, of Monroeville, AL; Sandy Peavy (Kevin) McIntosh, of Perdido Beach, AL; three brothers, Buddy (Rosie) Williams, of Franklin, AL; Willis (Alice) Williams, of Mexia, AL; Don (Vicky) Williams, of McCullough, AL; three sisters, Montez McMillan, of Little River, AL; Orbaneze Day, of Poarch, AL; Louise Gibson, of Claiborne, AL; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. with Brother Jerry May officiating. Burial will follow at Semirah Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. Pallbearers will be Damian Stokes, Joe Boutwell, Jordan Tolbert, Brad Tolbert, and Thomas Smith. Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. Atmore, AL. is in charge of all arrangements.
