Mrs. Carolyn Faye Presley

Mrs. Carolyn Faye Presley, 73, of Atmore, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born on September 7, 1952, in Wallace, Alabama, to Albert James Burch and Ola Roberson Burch. She spent most of her life in the Poarch community and was a devoted Baptist. Carolyn found her greatest joy in her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the pride of her life. She loved spending time at the beach, watching westerns and Hallmark movies, reading, taking vacations, fellowshipping with family and friends, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, faithfully supporting the San Francisco 49ers, and playing softball in her younger years. Above all, Carolyn was a loving, God-fearing woman who devoted her life to her family and faithfully shared her love for the Lord with others. Her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on in all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Arthur Presley; her parents, Albert James Burch and Ola Roberson Burch; her daughters, Cheryl Presley and Leslie Renea Presley; her sister, Debra Kay Davis; and her brothers, Jim Burch, Doug Burch, Clarence Burch, and Rufus Burch. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gary Wayne Presley, Sr. (Wendy) of Atmore, Alabama; Leighton Presley of Huntsville, Alabama; Randy Rutledge of Poarch, Alabama; Gary Wayne Presley, Jr. of Flomaton, Alabama; Sherry Lamport (Christopher) of Poarch, Alabama; and Layleigh Presley of Poarch, Alabama. She is also survived by her brothers, David Leon Burch of Brewton, Alabama, Kenny Burch (Don) of Satsuma, Alabama, Jessie Burch (Cindy) of Range, Alabama, and Fred Burch of Castleberry, Alabama; her sisters, Sally Blackwell of Range, Alabama, Dorothy Turberville (Elbert) of Frisco City, Alabama, Lisa Poptiff of Panama City, Florida, and Susan Andrews of Brewton, Alabama; twelve grandchildren, Trista, Patsy, Carrie, Charity, Amber, John, Henry, Jessica, Jennifer, Micah, Jayden and Kayleigh, twenty-four great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and love. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Petty Funeral Home, LLC with Rev. Bubba Rolin and Bro. Melvin Rolin officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 1:00 PM until the service hour at Petty Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Poarch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Blackwell, Chris Burch, Fred Burch, Jonathan Turberville, Justin Burch, and Michael Burch. Honorary Pallbearers will be Diego Millan, Armando Millan, Grayson Snyder, and Randy Rutledge. "Her memory will forever be treasured, and her legacy of love, family, and faith will continue through the generations she leaves behind." The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Southern Care Hospice for the compassionate and exceptional care provided to Carolyn during her illness. A special thank you is extended to Kaylee Sanspree, Kim McLaughlin, Tracey with Case Management, and the entire Southern Care Hospice team for their kindness, dedication, and support. Your compassion brought comfort and peace to Carolyn and her family during a difficult time, and your care will always be remembered with sincere appreciation.
